Removing Somebody Who Has Left

On the Users page, deactivate them.

It takes effect on their very next click — not at their next sign-in — so it is the right control for the day somebody hands their keys back, even if they are signed in at the time.

Their account stops working; nothing they did is removed.

The users table showing each person's name, email address, role and status.
Deactivate and Delete are both on the person's row.

Worth Knowing

  • You cannot deactivate yourself, which is deliberate — it would lock your business out of its own account.
  • Delete is the other button, and it is permanent: the account goes, and re-adding that person means a fresh invitation. Deactivate is the one to reach for unless you are certain they are not coming back.
  • The last Administrator cannot be deleted. Something has to be able to invite people and hand out locations, so add another Administrator first and then remove the one you meant to.
  • A deactivated login looks like a wrong password to whoever tries it. That is on purpose.
  • Reactivating is the same control. Nothing is lost by deactivating somebody early.
